17. relations between honor killing and Hanife:)
We read the story about honor killings which is called Hanife and It was explaning situations between victim and murderer because there is a killing event. In the Hanife writer gave a great imagery to the readers to understand the event. At the begining of the story Hanife killed from three men and villagers came next to her body and they did only putting some stones of her body's circumference. Her mother looked like so calm because I think she would guess it would happen whatever would happen. Whatever happens,It does not matter someone took someone else's life.It is not right and nobody could do anything to escape from that ending. Hanife was carrying the golden collar and it symbolyses traditions I guess because she took it from Hasan and they began to be as a couple.I'll explain relations detailed later.:))
16. Honor Killings and Hanife
Honor killing is a kind of breaking the rulesof our culture because we learnt or already knew that people's life is not worth anything in the world but If we started to talk about honor killings, we could not consider that worth to women who live in Eastern part of Turkey. In Eastern part of Turkey many women killed because of honor killing. It does not matter these women murdered from their family members and also that disgusting event is covering because there is no evidence to have the rate of how many of women murdered for honor killing.
Also, I could not understand that is why male dominance is not let women could the strenght in the society? I knew that there is feminism but It should be. Otherwise, might be women are wedged in with that pressure more than before. I think honor killing is not acceptiable and It would not be.

15. shooting an elephant:))
First of all when I started to read that story,I questioned it's title and then at the end of the story an elephant killed. It was bad because elephant's dying part was so detailed I guess. I knew that elephant could have hatred. They have memories about their owner and they can punish their owner. I guess that is why Indian people have respect for them. Elephants are smart animals:)) They know how to act to people. Also, George Orwell is a kind of writer that explains the real situations on animals by doing metaphors.( please check animal farm:) He uses some symbols to explain the real situation. At the end of story may be he did not want to kill the elephant but he did.
And I liked to share some different informations about elephants:
1)Elephant trunks can get very heavy. It is not uncommon to see elephants resting them over a tusk!
2)Elephants cry, play, have incredible memories, and laugh!
3)Elephants are sensitive fellow animals where if a baby complains, the entire family will rumble and go over to touch and caress it.
4)Elephants have greeting ceremonies when a friend that has been away for some time returns to the group.
5)Elephants grieve at a loss of a stillborn baby, a family member, and in many cases other elephants.
6)Elephants don't drink with their trunks, but use them as "tools" to drink with. This is accomplished by filling the trunk with water and then using it as a hose to pour it into the elephant's mouth.
79Interestingly, the Asian elephant is more closely related to the extinct mammoth than to the African elephant

13.Hanife
Today, we had a prenstation about "Hanife". It was so nice because they did not do any kind of forcing to ask chosen people:)))In briefly it's summary: Hanife murdered and then there was a ritual which was doing by women and children throw stones to the body of Hanife. I guess they did it because Hanife was evil and totaly wrong. There was flashbacks from Hanife's memory which was about Hasan who was her first. Hasan wanted to take gold coin from Hanife and after that Hasan left Hanife by herself because he went to Germany to work. Hanife wanted to take revenge from him but she did not do that. She murdered by Ahmet, Karali and Mustafa.
Because of traditions people would not kill anyone, It is not fair. People could not do that any actions like killing people to be able to protect their honesty. People's honesty is not directly relating with external forces. I mean by saying external forces such as gossip...These thing are really bad but customarily these things are acceptable. I really do not get anything because there is no way to out.
